When I Started:
Nov, 2006
How I Started:
I wasn't happy with my body or myself. I suffered from severe depression, contemplating if each day was even worth it. And Im type 1 Diabetic, so i wanted to better my health. At my worst I was around 5 foot 4 and 190 pounds! So i decided to start trying to lose weight. After 6 months of on and off training i got down to 138. I was so happy, all of my problems were cured. And my diabetes was under great control. But I had no muscle! So I started researching and starting taking diet and training seriously.
Why I Love It:
I love the feeling. I love seeing my body change week by week, getting bigger and stronger. It gives me something to strive for. Its a sport that not everyone can do, it takes a lot of dedication and discipline. its a sport where you stand alone. You have to fight through for yourself to succeed.
How I Stay Motivated:
First off my girlfriend. Face it this is a very self centered sport. And she puts up with it. And is constantly telling me i look better and better.
Also, my walls in my bedroom are plastered with cutouts of bodybuilders from magazines. So every night before bed I see them and the second i wake up i see them.
Looking at my fat pictures haha
i will never go back to that. EVER!

8 - 10 reps for 3 - 4 sets. I always go to failure, but I feel going past failure really stimulates growth so the last set once I hit failure I will rack the weight, rest for like 5 seconds and go at it again. Trying to keep the total rep range for the set under 12. For movements like benches and squats and deadlifts I would drop set them for safety reasons.8 - 10 reps for 3 - 4 sets. How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
as long as it takes for me to feel recovered
dont set a time
listen to your body
usually 30 - 60 seconds
Hi Steven. I finely had a chance to read to the diet suggestion you gave me. I haven't finished reading it yet but it seams like a awful lot of food you have to eat. How did you manage/plan it? didn't it cost a lot?
It is going great, I hit the weights this morning. Hard to gauge my weights because I am cutting right now and am not quite as strong as usuall. I had one hell of a pump though this morning feels great!
CONGRATS ON THE SEMIFINALS, I DONT REALLY KEEP UP, SO I DONT KNOW WHATS GOIN ON, BUT THATS WHAT IM TALKIN BOUT BIG HOMIE, OH MAN, YOU KILLEN THEM FRONT SQUATS MAN, IM NOT EVEN UP THERE ON THAT WEIGHT YET!!
my goals took a break for 2008 . It was a bad year but starting back for 2009 and so far so good. 2008 was sick most of it and had a couple family members pass away and just always something getting in the way but I am back now and going strong.
Yeah! I do agree wif this concept. Umm..I've been eating frequent small meals like 6 times a day. More to complex carbs & protein.Maybe my body needed some rest.Perhaps. i've rested 4 days be4 new yr eve. Is tat consider enuf rest? :)
