My mother was a bodybuilder as I was growing up. I had to go to the gym with her as my brother and I were homeschooled. I loved the smell of the gym, the weights, and the "burn" I would feel when working out (as an 8 year old kid, I did not do much back then.....just abs and calves). I have always had it in my blood and have used weight training principals since high school and college. I go to the gym 5-6 times a week for atleast 2 hours a day. When I need to lean up for a photoshoot, I always try to incorporate higher reps and 1.5 to 2 hours of cardio a day! I tend to hold body fat on my lower body, so I have to do a lot more cardio. LOL
Why I Love It:
It makes me feel good! It makes me feel healthy and vibrant! I love the way my muscles look when they are pumped! I love the way my abs look when I lean out! I love being in the gym and hearing the clanging of weights. I love being around other people that like doing the same thing as me!
How I Stay Motivated:
I personally stay motivated by wanting to earn my IFBB Pro Card in Figure one day....hopefully within the next 2 years. Shannon Dey, from www.shannondey.net is my trainer! I do not want to disappoint her as to my conditioning when I get up stage the next time! I also love to look at photos of other Figure competitors, like Jenny Lynn and Davana Medina, as they both have physiques like mine (in the off season), so I know that I can do it, too! :-)

Actually stepping on stage at the 2007 NPC Southern States after doing my own prep and diet...and not looking that bad! Now, I have a trainer, so I will be looking a lot better, meaning leaner and tighter. I plan on placing in my next couple of shows.

Worse that today's back pose (2-9-2008)

To Win 3 National Qualifiers in early 2009, compete in a National Show in 2009 and turn pro in Figure by the end of 2009.
Hi! My name is Tamar Cohl...aka...PlanetTamar. I am a bikini and glamour model turned physique model and NPC Figure Competitor. I love working out, changing my body, inspiring others to be the best they can be, and learning new things. I am married and I have 2 dogs. That keeps me busy and I love my little family. My husband is very supportive of my goals in life and I appreciate his unconditional love.
I have only competed in 2 NPC figure shows in my NPC career. I am working with IFBB Fitness Pro Shannon Dey and her husband, Rob Rosetti. They are the owners of Southern Muscle Plus Magazine, Bombshell Fitness, and Club Boom Gyms in Florida and Georgia. Under their guidance I know that I will succeed in this sport. I love it and after being under their official guidance for the NPC Coastal USA this past weekend in Duluth, GA, I know that I will continue to succeed in the rest of the NPC shows that I choose to enter.
I also am a self proclaimed Celiac Sprue Disease expert. I was diagnosed with CD in March of 2007 and immediately noticed a change in my body composition after getting wheat/gluten/barley/rye/and contaminated oats (and their by products) out of my diet. I do not believe that anyone should eat food or supplements with Gluten in it, especially if they want to change their physiques for the better. It is a "poison" to the small intestinal villi that are responsible for absorbing the nutrients of our food. If we kill our villi, we do not absorb the nutrients and then we will slowly but surely get many other health problems. (To much to mention in this brief bio area).
My mother was a bodybuilder when I was young. She did not compete, but she did bring my brother and I to the gym when we were kids. I got a love for working out and have never stopped. I will always work out for health and fitness even when my competing and modeling days are behind me.

Medium weight with higher reps. I will occasionally incorporate heavy leg training days, too. But I tend to keep to a lot of bodyweight exercises and medium resistance. I do a lot of sets and a lot of reps and a lot of exercises, from walking lunges, to step-ups, to squats, leg extensions, ham curls, etc. I usually do not train quads and hams on the same day, but I dedicate a lot of training to my glutes.Medium weight with higher reps.
