Have always been athletic. However, never lifted much weights. I have been teaching aerobics since 1993 and Personal training since 1998. Always wanted to compete since the early 90's was inspired to finally do a figure competition held in Aug 2005 I started training for it in Feb 2005. I place 1st in the Masters and 2nd plce in tall class. Since then I have been competing.
Why I Love It:
It is my anti-depressant. It cost nothing to do just your effort, which I beleive to be priceless. I enjoy the way it makes me feel and I enjoy helping others obtain that feeling. Exercise is underrated, it can be the cure for many things if people would just try it. Remember IRON never lies to you.
How I Stay Motivated:
CHOICE. It is a choice to press fourth. It is a choice to quit as well as persevere. Life is dealt to us in many different ways, but the bottom line is the life you have it's your choice to improve it, maintain it or settle for it. There are a few people God has placed in my life that are there for a reason. To help me stay motivated when I want to make the choice not to. God and my husband are two main ingredients to my life that I need to maintain my endurance. I have a few close friends that always have my back, to them I say THANK YOU!
BB Accomplishments:
DIET! UGH! I love to eat. Keeping a strict diet is a big accomplishment for me. Check out my competition history. Each show is an accomplishment for me because well Life it happens and STILL I RISE!!

Normal weight is 130lbs. Went up to 168lbs due to pregnancy. Started competing at 126lbs- had some medical issues and pregnancy loss again went up to 158lbs and back down to last show at 132lbs. It has been a journey hope to add about 3-5 lbs of muscle by next april and stay at my normal weight...

Goal (Long):
Continue figure but want to do fitness.
I compete against myself. There is no other body like your body and I strive to improve this body I have. Gain more size on my sweep (quads) get more fullness in hams- GOALS: Next show to lean out and be about 140lbs. 145 would be awesome for me leaned out. Get at least 15 straight wide grip pull-ups. I am at 11 now. YEAH baby! Long term grow some gastrocnemius(CALVES) there not in my genetic factor but I can make them apart of my future body lol., continue to improve ham glute tie in-build my frontal deltoids and rear delts and to gain 10 pounds of muscle while competing at the leanest I have ever been. What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
Learn proper form and be patient. Every excerise shoud have a purpose. Learn it. Never do it just because someone else is. Always ask-What am I doing? What celebrity body would you most like to have? Why?
Well I really do not want any celebrity body. Really I love my body. Now maybe I could have just one of beyonces paychecks or maybe just 1% of Oprahs check. LOL. But I am very motivated by all the top fitness and figure gal and Adela is my motivator. Valerie Wuagman she is the body i wouls most like to have. But right now I am pretty content with the body Im building- Well I really do not want any celebrity body. Really I love my body. Have you ever had a lifting injury?
Yes
What type of injury was it? How long were you injured? How did you recover?
Tendonitis in elbow. about 3weeks. Had to lay off lateral raises and front raises.
Description: 6th place 2nd National show and I had a blast. It was late and I was tired and there was only a little bit of love backstage at this show. All the girls were beautiful BUT only a handful where beautiful inside it was kinda sad but I felt great because God gives me the joy I have and NO man or woMan can take that away!! Weight training
Currently I lift heavy about 12-15 reps of every exercise. LEGS well thats a little different-I do about 10-16 sets of leg press. OUCH HEAVY!!! Squats lunges stiff legs leg extension and curls

Thanks so much for your advice! Honestly though I do lift as heavy as I can without getting hurt. I really bust my butt in the gym. I have heard from a lot of people that I shouldn't do very much cardio so I haven't been but I feel like I am not as lean. My stomach is poochier and I hate it. What is your advice?
