How I Started:
While attending univeristy 18 years ago, one of my core requirements was to to take a physical education class. On the first day of class, I found out that I was the only science geek in the class which was made up mostly of the Marshall University football team. I had never lifted a weight in my life. I was intimidated, scared and expected to be made fun of and treated badly. I couldn't have been MORE WRONG. They took me under their wing, motivated me to do well in the class and inspired me to never give up and to never quit!. It was a life changing experience. After the class was over, I continued lifting and had an awesome workout buddy. He was a preacher, bodybuilder great friend and mentor. I will always be grateful to all of them and am forever a Marshall University Thundering Herd Fan. How lucky I was!!. From that point on, I made training a part of my life.
Why I Love It:
Love to keep in shape. Like seeing the results. Great stress reliever. Mind and body balance.
How I Stay Motivated:
After a long recovery from a broken vertebrae and a ruptured disk, I Changed my attitude from "WHY ME?" into "what am I going to do about it. Once I put my mind to something I stick with it. Ask anyone who knows me.
Daretosoar, BigBacala2, Buckspin, Clem08, dpaul4553, Pabuilder, knucklehead, B-racer and many more great people here who are guiding me along the way. A big thanks!
My Life credos that I follow:
"Put out the good and it will return to you tenfold"
"Nothing good or bad Lasts forever"
"Do your best, because the best is all you can do"
BB Accomplishments:
Losing 91 pounds so far and putting on muscle mass on my chest and arms.
Going from a 44 relaxed fit jeans down to a 32 regular fit jeans.
Tricep cable pulldown 170 pounds x 15 reps.
Leg extension: 320 pounds x 15 reps.

This is me at my worst at 270 pounds wearing a 2XL sweater that is too small with 44 relaxed fit jeans that are too small also. This was my turning point to lose weight and to get back into shape again.
At 179 pounds. I had a great year. I have lost 91 pounds, dropped my bodyfat by 50% and went from a 44 relaxed fit jeans to a 32 regular. Mood: Accomplished.
The best is yet to come!
Thanks everyone for your motivation and support!
Posted my one year progress pics- check them out! Broke my back, ruptured a disk and had a long recovery and gained 100 pounds. A year later, I lost 91 pounds with 9 more to go. Cutting now. Then I'm gonna put on 25 pounds of muscle.
Why I like this video: This is a video of Stephanie, AKA "Daretosoar" who has continued to motivate me and keep me inspired in my weight loss and fitness goals from day one! Stephanie, you killed the 200 Lb bench press! Awesome Work!
At 5 am, the alarm clock blasted me wide-awake. I. looked out the window to see a winter wonderland. Cold and all of the trees and roads are covered in ice and everything looks like glass with freezing rain falling. Power lines bowing down with the weight of the ice. Not going to venture out...
Thank you so much for that response!! I did not look at food that way, when you put it that way, whew, I will skip those cheats!! Good Luck on your 2009 Goals!!
