I have been a gym rat for about 16 years now. Being a gymnast, it was kind of a requirement. After my first child in 1999, I became addicted. The gym to me is almost like a drug.
Why I Love It:
Being a stay-at-home mom can be very stressful and working out helps me relieve that stress. Oh yea, and I like looking good too!
How I Stay Motivated:
If I'm having trouble getting motivated, all I have to do is turn to the fitness channel or look through some fitness magazines.
BB Accomplishments:
I'm pretty proud of how I have been able to stay in shape after 3 little ones.

Progress Pictures

I took this picture just today. I would like to lose about 5 lbs of fat and turn it into muscle. I'm very excited to watch my progress.
Started dieting down with a friend who's competing in October. We'll see what kind of results I get...
My goal is to stay happy with the way I look in a bikini!
Goal (Long):
After a racquetball back injury back in November 2007, I was forced to completely stop all exercise for about a month. Then even after that, I could only do moderate exercise, which left me feeling a little flabby. Now that my back is all healed up, I'm ready to go again. I have started back to a rigorous exercise regimine, and have started eating better. My long term goal is to lose about 4% body fat and maintain the muscle that I already have. I'm not into looking too muscular, just lean. I would like to achieve this goal by the end of summer.
Ok....so I went on a 3 mile run this morning with already sore legs, and now my right quad is so sore I can hardly walk. I immediately took some glutamine and iced it, then ate and went and sat in the hot tub. Oh....also took 2 Aleve. What the crap did I do? Maybe it's just...
Well I wouldn't worry about it, whatever you're doing it looks like it's working pretty well. I just hope to get to 10% bf by Halloween... it'll make my costume options a whole lot broader!
The competition i'm going to do is a goal i set myself to shoot for. I like to set a goal for myself and strive for it. Living healthier is an every day life for me. I like to kick it up a notch to make it more challenging. See what I can do and what I can learn, benefit from it, and see if I can inspire others out there who also has a goal or change a life style.
Wow Heather, thanks; I actually forgot I asked about that too,lol....That's interesting, most people do heavy sets(6-8reps) w/ 2-3min. rest, or high reps(15+) w/ short rest, yet you combine the two. Truth be told, I'd love to have that kinda size w/ that leaness and tone, just wanted to know your "secret". All the very best:-)
OH BY THE WAY YOUR LOOKING GREAT!!! I TOO AM PLANNING ON COMPETING IN JUNE NEXT YEAR SO I'M WORKING ON MY PHYSIQUE AND EATING HABITS AS WELL!! TIPS ARE APPRECIATED TOO!!
THANK YOU!!THAT REALLY MEANS ALOT TO ME. I'LL KEEP YOU POSTED AD THANKS AGAIN. IT KEEPS ME MOTIVATED TO KNOW THAT SOMEONE IS KEEPING TRACK OF ME AND INCOURAGING ME TO KEEP GOING!!
Oh, well I'm carb cycling. One day is high carb, the next day is low carb and the final day is no carb. You just keep repeating it. Today was high carb day so I was definitely a happy camper. Brown rice, wheat bread and pasta, oh my. lol. You're not familiar w/carb cycling? It's not pleasant, I'll tell you that.
Thanks for the reply, it was helpful..I've decided on doing low rep(8-10) w/ 3 min. rest between sets because I want more volume, so I think on the right track. I definately don't want to burn more calories!
Heather, Cant really complain about things here no one would listen anyway. I do wish work would not get in the way of working out:) I started a new workout yesterday so hopefully I will get results from it. All the best to you and yours your. More later! Take Care, Rob
