My bodybuilding start was the traditional in the basement sort of thing. I began by using my uncle's weight bench that was in my basement. Then, I wasn't extremely serious, I really only had just begun and had no idea what I was doing. Soon, I moved and didn't work out at all for half a year or so, untill my father introduced me to Mark Perry, a national level competitor. He was the biggest man I had ever seen.
Why I Love It:
Makes me feel like I am worth something. I believe that my body is the only thing I have tying me to this world and that it is a tool that I can use to achieve my own ends. If it's the only thing I truly own, then I want it to be the best it can possibly be.
How I Stay Motivated:
PUMPING IRON! No, seriously, that movie motivates me to no end. I also have set goals for myself that I will accomplish. That's simply how it is. I will not give up. Something inside motivates me. Friends motivate me. Those who don't believe in me motivate me. Those who do believe in me motivate me. I'm determined, I guess.

Do you sometimes use energy enhancing supplements?
Yes
Which supplements do you take? When do you take them?
Caffeine, Ephedrine
Only use ephedrine when cutting, otherwise I get too dependent on it.
-Energy is insane!-
Caffiene I take nearly every day. Helps me stay awake at work. Use it preworkout in the mornings or late eve if I am tired or haven't gotten enough sleep. Caffeine, Ephedrine

What mistakes did you make when you first started working out?
Nutrition. That was my biggest mistake. I was too strict with my diet. I wasn't aware that I needed lots of calories at 16 years old and tons of protein to gain weight. I was only eating protein on my workout days and I tended to stay away from most all fats. I thought that would make me shredded. I was far from correct. Gotta eat fats. Caused me joint problems stuff. I eat upwards of 100grams per day now and I stay leaner than I was then when I was eating 10-20g at most per day.
Oh, and cereal. I though carbs were just carbs. Needed them to have energy. I was really addicted to cereal. I could eat an entire jumbo bag of Marshmallow Mateys in a few days. That's what caused me to hold onto excess bodyfat, not fats.

What is the one tip you would give somebody who is just getting started?
NUTRITION IS EVERYTHING! Don't skip meals. You can find a way to eat even if it means running to the bathroom at work and scarfing down a protein bar or a can of tuna in 30 seconds.
So, I have decided that I may not compete this year. This being the case, I have upped my carbs a bit and I have had some cheat meals. I still diet though for the most part. I do cardio, just not as much as I did. I have only gained a few pounds but I tend to lose it right away as well. ...
same height, same sort of structure i think comparing myself to you. Your just more ripped and possibly bigger in places...awesome stuff dude, gives me a good viewpoint of the road ahead and where i'll possibly end up...any tips appreciated.
Your previous rear relaxed shots showed some impressive quad sweep, so I'm curious what u got goin' on now. 10lbs in a few months tells me you are doing a clean bulk, putting on mostly muscle. Gonna be cool to see your great proportions get more swole!
As for me, I'm 22 lbs heavier than at my comp in september (163 vs. 185). I hope a few lbs of that is new muscle!
Cool to hear you're bulking, hope you can afford to keep eating HUGE. I feel ya on NOT wanting to do factory work. You have great potential as a personal trainer, and the cred to go with it. U talked with Mark Perry about being a trainer at his gym?
BTW, hope I'll see u competing this year...
