When I Started:
Jun, 2007
How I Started:
I wanted to transform my body from fat, out of shape, and in pain, to trim and pain free. My initial goal of losing 35 pounds has been surpassed! 59 pounds of fat gone and new muscle gained!
Current Goals:
I want to increase my bench press from 100 lbs currently to 106 which is my bodyweight. I also want to increase my deadlift from the current 175 lbs to 200 lbs and then later to 212 which is double my bodyweight. I will do it even if it kills me! Stubbornness goes a long way ;)
I don't do squats because of compressed cervical discs.
Why I Love It:
I love it because I look better, I'm pain free, I have lots of energy, and reduced stress. I look forward each day to challenging myself to improve on my personal best.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing results and feeling better. I live in a city of thin people, lots of athletes, runners, cyclists etc so I'm just keeping up with the rest of the population.
The members of the OV35 forum really support and encourage me.
BB Accomplishments:
Bodybuilding.com *Transformation of the Week* February 14, 2008
I have lost 59 pounds and 12 1/2 inches from my waist. My bodyfat has dropped from 41% to 17%. I have gained muscle in areas that I didn't even know I had lol Now at 50 years old I feel good about my appearance once again and know that bodybuilding and clean eating is a lifelong commitment that I'm prepared to accept. When I look in the mirror I don't cringe and when I shop for new clothes I can wear a size XS instead of a size 18! My focus now will be to gain more muscle.
I want to inspire people that have 40 or 50 pounds to lose to take that step and start now. Anyone can do this with some determination and consistency if they eat clean, incorporate cardio and implement a weight training program into their lives. Today is the day, it's never too late.

I'm ashamed to even post this picture but I have to be honest about how far I had let this go.
These are the jeans I wore in May 07 compared to now. I can actually fit 2 of me in here lol

Goal (Long):
I would like to maintain a lean body but more importantly to GAIN MUSCLE. Ultimately I want a body with little fat and lots of MUSCLE. I don't know if I can get a really muscular body starting at this age but I'm going to try! I am 50 years old but it's not too late!
I could not understand how the Americans could elect the Republicans again but now I am equally shocked and disgusted that Canadians have elected the Conservatives once again. I can only surmise that Canadians are seriously out of touch with reality or there are more right wing Christians in...
Thanks for your kind comment! I keep a positive attitude about my leukemia & personally believe that healthy eating plus exercise can only improve my health. I want to prove to the docs that nutrition & BB makes for a better quality of life, regardless if you have cancer or not.
Oh, you are quite welcome; you deserve them! And thanks for your compliment; I love halters but haven't worn them because of the grande arms. But I'm starting to replace that fat with muscle and it's looking good! As for the breast, I've been blessed! Thanks and have a great week!
