A weightloss contest in 1991 at a former job -> joined the company fitness center and aerobics classes -> worked out at home with Step Rebook and light weights -> visited a local fitness club with a buddy. We joined; I stuck with it, he bailed. 5 years later joined the Y and started powerlifting workouts -> joined my current no frills ironhead gym in 2002.
Why I Love It:
Gives me something to test myself against; keeps me ahead of most other men.
How I Stay Motivated:
It's ingrained now; continuing motivation is to keep the muscle I've worked for.
BB Accomplishments:
Put on about 60 lbs of muscle in all this time. Have lifted more than I ever thought possible.

OK, so I'm fat. I have worked very hard in the gym and in the kitchen to build this muscle bear belly. I am proud of it. It's mine!

137 lbs; 14 1/2 shirt collar; 38 jacket.
Bulking, boy am I gonna get a lot of crap for these pics! Yes, that is a very snug Speedo swim brief, lol
My goal is to gain weight, lots of weight. Yes, you heard right, gain weight. Muscle weight! Muscle weight!
I'm getting back into the gym with a vengeance. I've decided on this routine: http://www.davedraper.com/pmwiki/pmwiki. php/PmWiki/5x5 I have much work to do to get my poundage numbers back up... I've lost ~100 lbs off my best deadlift, down to 245 lbs., for reasons that are irrelevent here. I want my 345 back, and more! But this routine looks simple and do-able enough to keep me challenged. I start next week.
I'm going to need to eat to get that back, so I may pack on a little more fat too. Meh, who cares anymore. I feel secure enough to have posted my pic with bear belly and all. I'm not a bodybuilder, never have been, never will be. I'm not even going to attempt to cut. I'm a powerlifter, or at least in my own mind.
Current stats:
Height: 5'5" (I don't expect that to change);
Weight: 215 lbs, could go up another 15-20 lbs?;
Chest: 47-48", goal 48-50";
Arms: just shy of 17", goal 17 1/2 - 18";
Neck: 17-17 1/2;
Waist: 41-42" (yes proud of it... hey I worked for it ), goal whatever!;
Thighs: 26"
Calves: 16"
I wanted to use keto, but after some consideration I'm now leaning (no pun intended) towards something like 40/35/25: protein/low gi carbs/fat. For some reason my weight training suffers on keto, and in 1 1/2 years of keto, I've lost 16 lbs.
So there ya have it... heavier iron, much heavier; more food, much more; a good tailor.
people watching at the Jersey shore is definitely fun. I was just at Trumph Plaza and did a lot of people watching.
