"To help make Wheelchair Bodybuilding and bodybuilding and it's related sports bigger and better than ever and get tons more fans and hardworking, dedicated competitors for our sport of Wheelchair Bodybuilding so it will grow and become well known."

Personal Info And Background:
Real Name: Walker
Sex: Male
Age: 21
Location: United States
Occupation: Wheelchair Bodybuilder
Personal Website: http://www.youtube.com/user/DefyFate2022
Gym: my house
Gym Location: my house
When I Started: Apr, 2003
How I Started: Well, when I was a young child I liked watching martial arts and boxing. Tough guys and heroes was another thing I liked growing up. There were so many movies that featured a strong, kind hero that I liked. A few examples I can think of are Terminator 2 -Judgment Day, Blood Sport and heck even some anime. Watching real life sports was the biggest motivator though. It's like I mentioned earlier, ever since I was young I have admired athletes. The strength and charisma they carry with them has always fascinated me. So at age 15, I made the decision that I wanted to start lifting weights. I figured that even if I couldn’t have the coordination, speed and agility of an able body person, I could still possess the same type of strength. Another couple of big sources of inspiration that made me aspire to be more athletic was, first , my dad was on the Navy boxing team and ,second, my friend Derek, who is a great pole-vaulter, in great shape and an awesome friend whos has helped me. So armed with those thoughts in mind and an unbreakable will, I began my quest to buffness and I have to say that I love every aspect of the journey. I want to see how far I can get before I get old and inevitability die.
Why I Love It: i love everything! The people, the cheers, the attention, my fellow wheelchair bodybuilders! They took me right under their wings and made me feel at ease. So in short, I love it in many ways. Helping promote and market WCBB with everybody is also rapidly becoming a passion of mine. It’s fun. I like that part of it as much as the stage. I also want nothing more in this world than for Wheelchair Bodybuilding and bodybuilding to become bigger and better than ever. Why this desire burns in me so deeply is because before i met my Wheelchair Bodybuilding friends i had no idea sports like it even existed and through our efforts we are trying to change that by rasing awareness and trying to recurit more people.
How I Stay Motivated: Myself, my fellow wheelchair bodybuilders and also able bodied fitness, figure, and bodybuilding men and women and any person passionate about fitness and working out That's who and what motivates me. I am always coming up with new ways to do exercises and because I discovered Wheelchair Bodybuilding I now feel as if i have a true propose in life and let me tell everybody who reads this something to feel that way about something makes you feel amazing, almost superhuman.
Another one of the ways i stay motivated is by always trying to think of ways to raise awareness and make Wheelchair Bodybuilding, Wheelchair sports (other than bodybuilding) and bodybuilding and it's related sports bigger and better. one of my biggest dreams includes a day where Wheelchair Bodybuilding and other Wheelchair sports become as commonplace as any other sport
so that more people will learn about them and hopefully join in so that they too can get that rush like i do when i compete. Why I belive this is so very important to me and my fellow Wheelchair Bodybuilders and friends is because we are trying to let wheelchair users know that just because they ended up either by brith or injury being confined to a wheelchair, their lives are not over, altered without a doubt but far from over they just have to adapt, be open minded and become aware of whats out there and then of course make the descion for themseveles as to if they want to become a part of it or not. One thing however that I try hard never to do is make others, disabled or not feel forced to do anything because if their efforts are only being fed by someone's desires for them then that person will never live up to their full abilties so even though i'm very, very passionate about these subjects please keep in mind you have to do whats best for you no one else. With that said i still strongly encourage you to go check out the Wheelchair divison at a bodybuilding show or whatever wheelchair sporting event you like best whenever you can before making your final decison. Finally there are two more reasons/ways i stay motivated, one being that i feel if more wheelchair users are/were active in wheelchair sports it will destoy the stigma that can sometimes follow wheelchair users by showing people were not as breakable in any way as people might think and we are cool to visit with although we hate long walks :) hahaha, anyway the second reason is that i feel that the more wheelchair users show
themselves to be competive it will someday get more attention from people as a whole and the media and maybe, just maybe they'll work a litte faster on better treaments and possibe cures for wheelchair users I hope so. Some of the ways I think this process could be hastened are if the president someday would make a national holiday devoted to wheelcair sports and the people who do them and during that day/time show news stories, movies, tv shows or anything that might urge other handicapped people to become a part of the wheelchair sports of their choice and this would also educate and raise awareness to non disabled people. Flooding rehab hospitals/hospitals with word of mouth and flyers or posters of some sort would help as well because in order to possibily recruit more disabled people to our cause, we have to look where they can be found. Wrapping things up i have but one more message to send, in the end the words and even actions of others can only do so much to prompt their fellow human beings, at some point they have to take hold of the wheel so to speak and control their destiny and happiness. Facing those facts i've did my best the rest is up to you. I would also like to thank all my family, friends, and my fellow bodybuilding, fitness, and figure friends (both wheelchair and walking and walking) :) for their support, motivtion and love (i want to get my skinny frame as big, strong and as ripped and lean as i can while staying between 122-160 lbs at 4-8% BF).
BB Accomplishments: Competing in WCBB shows and getting to show the world my hardwork and getting to be around people and friends who are doing the same thing. Trying along with my friends to get more fans and Wheelchair Bodybuilders in our sport so it will grow and become bigger and more awesome than all of ever thought possible so that when all we die we can leave a well respected sport and legacy for all (hopefully lots and lots by that time) so that Wheelchair Bodybuilding will forever have a well founded and well known place in the worlds of wheelchair sports, bodybuilding and just overall fitness, worlds we love so much and are so thankful to be a part of. In short all i'm trying to say is that all my Wheelchair Bodybuilding friends and also all the friends and supporters i've gained in Bodybuilding and other closely related sports (Hey figure and fitness ladies!!! aww yea :) chicks rule)along with all my family and friends have helped me through very heavy mental torments and burdens (that are all still constant worries for me, they are just more easily carried for the time being, thus making them less stressful and hopefully it will be that way for a very long time to come. By all of them giving me love, support and encouragement they do even if they are not aware of it have aided me in discovering and showcasing a part of myself and my mindset that i thought would because of
Spastic diplegia cerebral palsy would have to remain forever asleep and never come to light and I along with the other
wheelchair bodybuilders will hope and try our best to make sure that in our lifetimes that the many, many hardworking, self-motived and athletically minded wheelchair users out there will learn of our sport and help us make it bigger and better either by competing with us on the stage or
if they have no desire to compete just by being a supportive fan. Spread the word everybody and thanks for everything everybody it means alot to the Big Dogg.

Description: It’s Wheelchair bodybuilding, the effect all these guys have on my desire to train is unreal, what incredible mindsets and physiques and as a bonus they all are very cool and fun to be around and are all my friends and people I look up to both for their bodybuilding training, love of fitness and their outlooks on life, cause I will tell this right now out of all the muscles they flex their hearts will always be the biggest. I know that sounds kind of wimpy to say something like that but it’s true and it’s exactly that kind of vibe I get from all of them that makes me more comfortable and better able to deal with the fact that I am most likely confined to a wheelchair for life and while I don’t think any of us would turn down a chance to get better and get our bodies at 100% and beyond we all have this sport as a passion and a outlet and that is very important and we would like to thank everyone for being fans and supporters, so keep spreading the word and helping us help others and making the sport grow, get noticed and our dreams come true. Thanks again everyone from the Big Dogg train hard and take care my fellow brothers and sisters of the iron and lovers of fitness.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. At times, it is not easy, but I takes things one day at a time. I had a minor set back so my short term goal is to regain and build strength and endurance.
