I've always been an avid reader of magazines about muscle and fitness but I've never went after it seriously for myself. I've made the same new years resolution every year, just to give up about 2 weeks into the year. I decided that i'm tired of that and i'm going to give this everything I have, this year and for the rest of my life.
Why I Love It:
I love feeling sore after a really good workout and watching my body change as the weeks pass.
How I Stay Motivated:
Reading muscle and fitness magazines, buying new clothes (in smaller sizes!), looking at progress pictures
BB Accomplishments:
Running 2 5Ks!

I was around 180 lbs...I thought I carried it pretty well at the time! Guess not..
I want to be strong. I want to be proud of my body instead of hiding behind false confidence. I'm tired of settling and i'm ready to go all out! I know how it feels to be doing "alright" in my exercise and eating habits, it's time to be exceptional.
What do you do before your workout to get motivated and energized?
Listen to music or read a muscle mag

Do you tell your friends and/or family about your fitness goals?
Yes
Why or why not?
I like to involve the people closest to me in my interests and I tend to share what i'm currently excited about.

What tips would you give to others to help them stay motivated over the long-term?
Take the occassional time off to rest and reassess goals. Also, being a bodyspace member and staying connected with others who are pursuing the same kind of lifestyle helps.
I am SO tired of people thinking that they have any say on how much I should weigh or what I should be eating. These so called "friends" know that i'm still overweight. Being 5'3" and 140 lbs is NOT okay. So why gang up on me at get togethers to eat cake, or cheddar hot dogs,...
