When I Started:
Jun, 2007
How I Started:
Got a good start in high school playing football and started "strength training." I have worked out (hobby) / exercised and been athletic since then. So staying fit was pretty easy. At about 27, I hit a wall and I noticed my metabolism started to change and I put on weight. I didn't like it...but I didn't know how to fix it. Turns out, it was all diet. I got fat and really struggled with my weight for several years with nothing really working long term for me. In Jul 07 that it was time to make some changes...major changes. In Jul 07, I had already dropped about 20 lbs from my all time high weight of 205 lbs but was not satisified with how I "looked". I was running like 3-5 miles a day for 4-5 days a week but had not figured out the diet stuff. Was still eating like I always had...pizza, burgers, etc... and it showed. I asked a friend going thru a year long military school with me how he got so lean and fit and he said he bought the book "Body Rx," and now he just follows that. So I went out and got it and now I pretty much adhear to it. I have had pretty good results.
Early on, I also had good friends who loved weightlifting and sports like I did. Oh yeah, I won the fitness award from that 1 year school after all my efforts. :) It pays off in a lot of ways!
Why I Love It:
I feel better when I'm serious about training. It absolutely positively affects my attitude. I also like how the discipline spills over into other aspects of my life. Mostly, I like the results...pure vanity.
How I Stay Motivated:
Seeing positive results when I work hard as well as the negative results when I slack off. Reading good fitness books & weight training articles. Setting and working hard to reach personal goals. Christ Jesus my Lord.
BB Accomplishments:
My daughter said..."Daddy your not soft anymore when I hug you."

BEFORE - Front Relaxed - small arms, no traps, slight gut with fantastic love handles
Took this round not "pumped". Not really happy with them but it is what it is. Starting my 3 month challenge. :)
MERRY CHRISTMAS friends! I am working to get lean, cut up, and muscular. Still working on the abs...diet discipline is coming along. Working toward a 6% bf. Want to bench press 375 lbs & squat 700 lbs & run 1.5 mi in 9:30 or less.
Goal (Long):
I want to be more healthy and feel good all the time physically, mentally, and spiritually. I am committed to making this a lifestyle change more than anything.
It has been a while since I did a body fat check. I use the link here and follow the directions on the web page to do it. I use a Accu-Measure caliper and do a 5 spot check. I plan on doing this at lease once every couple of months. Still working hard on...
This is generally what I do. Although I mix it up alot and do different things. Check out my w/o tracker for details on my program. Usually 5-8 different exercises on one or no more than 2 muscle groups in any workout.
Merry Christmas, Bulldog! I hope you are having a fantastic time :) All the best for the New Year and I am sure you will agree that it's okay to cheat a little this time of the year. Lol.
