My church activities leader Tim Slesk was into triathlons, and super fit, and he seemed amazingly happy. He's a huge inspiration, and up next is Lance Armstong, Mark Allen, and Brian Mackenzie, Crossfit endurance specialist. And can't forget Tom Wilfong who taught me the importance of discipline.
Why I Love It:
I love the feeling of accomplishment, and the ability to push harder and harder. The ability to do things others can't even fathom. Being fit and in shape, when the need occurs is always a plus.
How I Stay Motivated:
When things aren't going well, we all need a tough grinding workout.
I am SINGLE, my favorite date idea is anything including some type of workout.
Sometimes we all need a few days off, don't get burned out. Then, when you feel ready, go for it.

I'm shedding this old skin and feeling better about my looks everytime I workout
Will be exciting to compare this winter blah picture to my midsummer pic this next year of racing. I'm going all out

Goal (Long):
I successfully accomplished my goals all summer long. Beat my Half Ironman time goal of 5:33 and the Lake Stevens 70.3, completed my 50k Trail run as planned, and completed the Seattle to Portland with ease. My new long term goal includes competing in the Clearwater Florida Half Ironman Championship race that I qualified for, and completing Ironman Canada. I want to compete, and feel good about my performance. I had a recent hiccup with a sore knee while Hiking the Wonderland trail around Mt. Rainier. So proper rest, and healing, then back at it to re-peak for my November championship race is essential. I need to eat healthy, and stay in shape all winter because I signed up for Ironman Canada August 30, 2009! Hoping to incorporate Crossfit into my workout regime.

Holy Heck, I've been so busy with fitness to even update my blog... So, 4 weeks ago, I traveled up to Penticton Canada, feeling good about my summer of triathlon, I watched Ironman Canada, and signed up for 2009 Ironman Canada! 2.4 Swim, 112 Bike, 26.2 Run! It was an amazing experience...
So, after a near complete burnout this end of season, it's time to get caught up on some things in my personal life. I think for my winter program I am going to keep in shape by training higher intensity and shorter workouts, including much more variety, hopefully some Crossfit type...
Congratulations on your race. Just completing a half ironman is achievement enough. It was hard enough doing an Olympic distance triathlon, and that's only half as far.
I've definitely battled some late fall training blues, and I bombed in my last tuneup race, so I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm still aiming to run the marathon on Dec. 7.
Word is there are only 300 spots left for New Orleans 70.3 - so you should sign up quick if you are going to do it. Should be a lot of fun. 100 miler is a good way off. Gotta get at a 50k, and hopefully a 50 miler first. Baby steps. I remember when a marathon seemed impossible. Hell - doing a half marathon this weekend, and my first long run (about three weeks ago) was 16.5mi. I remember training forever for my first half. Hahaha, it is good to see some progress.
You do tri's? That is awesome!!!! I am currently training for a half Ironman. Love to hear any tips you have. Heard you talking about Crossfit and trying to balance mass with endurance. It is rough being muscular and an endurance athlete... Are you currently doing Crossfit? How is it going?
Thank you! I love SA! Have you been to Six Flags Fiesta Texas or SeaWorld? Those would be great places to take your kiddos. Or maybe a waterpark...we have a couple around here. How's the training coming along for the next triathlon?
5 hr 13 min for a 50K on a rough trail sounds like a great time -- congratulations. I've never raced on a trail like that before; it sounds very difficult. My sights are set a little lower -- the Dec. 7 marathon nearby.
Congrats on a great job. When is your triathlon?
I was actually supposed to be running a half marathon today, but after 3 months of training & perfect health, I get sick the week before my race:( I guess I have to wait until the next one in April.
