When I Started:
How I Started:
...Let's see, when I was in high school my friend and I would workout at the Army/Airforce base (Ft. Lewis/Mcchord , and go eat bean burritos at Taco Bell immediately afterwards...didn't really get into fantastic shape doing that...I can't imagine why...lol!
Then when I went to college, I started running, I used it as a stress reliever and did it about 6 days a week..I lost about 25 lbs in 3 months easily and ate a ton of food (didn't know anything about eating "clean" then, so I ate as healthy as possible in the cafeteria)...but never did any strength training at all.....I had been a member of a gym for as long as I could remember, usually only to use cardio equipment though...
But now, after struggling the past 5+ years with extra weight that just won't budge, I decided to step it up and add weighlifting to my exercise plan, after seeing the transformations here on Bodyspace...I decided it was time for me to transform too!
Why I Love It:
It makes the impossible possible and changes your life. I feel really good after a workout, like I accomplished something and can be proud of myself for the day. My self respect grows each time I leave the gym dripping with sweat, knowing I busted my a#*...
How I Stay Motivated:
Looking at other's before and after pic's and reading their stories. Seeing the amazing body transformations here is very motivating to me!
BB Accomplishments:
I'm starting to get traps! My first visible muscle :)

Wow I hate looking at this pic, but you can see the progress so I'm posting it. I weighed between 184-187 here and had been that size for about 3 years...I was not loving life like this!
It's in my heart, it's in my mind, I'm ready for the challenge, I've set my sights...
Goal (Long):
My body weight has yo-yo'ed my entire life. I usually can get down to a size 8 pant, which I am at now, and think it's all good, that's all I need to do. I have worked my way down to this size time and time again. When I am at a size 8, friends usually tell me I look great and can't understand why I think I need to lose any weight. Since I look ok in clothes, I don't pay attention to the real truth about how my body looks until I see it in a dressing room and right then and there I want to leave the store and go to the gym. Now I am seeing it, acknowledging it, and want to step it up and not just be content with being a certain size number, but get toned and trade some fat for muscle. I have always wanted to have toned, muscular arms but haven't put forth the effort to get them until now.
Also-I was motivated by some of the transormations on this site before I joined it, and I would be thrilled if my progress motivated someone else that way :) :)
What's the significance of that?? Time to review, re-organize, recommit to the goal...that's the name of my game...after admittedly falling off the fitness wagon this past week, I am back on ready to burn thru some calories and build some more muscle....I have my work cut out for me, as I...
You say in these pics of your back that you are not coming down in weight but you clearly are. I see a difference. You can't go by what you weigh because muscle weighs more than fat so as you build muscle your weight in lbs. on the scale may remain the same or only go down slightly. You are doing well, though because I can see the difference. Great job!!
