When I Started:

How I Started:
In 01/2003, I thought I was having a heart attack. After all the testing, it was a false alarm. However, I made a decision to start improving my health by eating clean and working out.
Why I Love It:
I feel better; I reduce the risk of having a heart attack. Lower my blood pressure and cholesterol. In 2006, I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) and scoliosis (2008). In order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, I must continue to workout, i.e., lifting weights, stretching, tae kwon do, hap ki do.
How I Stay Motivated:
Having a positive attitude, especially when I am not feeling my best. Surround myself with positive people. I am motivated by the success of others. JUST DO IT! Love that phrase. Because I have MS, does not mean that I can't do something (BE ALL THAT I CAN BE).

Goal (Long):
My fitness goal is to lose 73 pounds of fat within one year and keep the muscle that I currently have. I would like to be 180 pounds, with 12% bodyfat. I know with full dedication I can do this in the next 12 months.
How long do you rest between sets on average? Why?
30 second, then I move on. Also, I am not hogging the equipement and preventing or slowing down other people workout.

How many reps per set do you usually do? Why?
High reps; low weights. With MS, fatigue may sit-in quick. If you push yourself too hard, the next day you are wipe out and literally can't move. I use free weight with the assistance of the Hammer Stregth machines. In order to get a complete workout, I perform high reps with low weights. Veterans Day is intended to honor and thank all military personnel who served the United States in all wars, particularly living veterans. It is marked by parades and church services and in many places the American flag is hung at half mast. A period of silence lasting two minutes may be held...

I am honored to receive your “much too kind message.” I don’t know about making anyone else work harder, but I do know that with friends like you pushing yourselves to the limit each and every workout I can’t let up for a minute or else I will be left in the dust.
May God bless you and yours and I hope that this year He brings you a multitude of wonderful blessings.
Yeah, I've been veg for a few years now. There are several reasons why people go veg. For me the main thing that keeps me veg is a moral conviction.
As far as protein goes you'll have no problems. I get my protein from peanut butter, dairy, eggs, supplements, beans, nuts etc. Make sure you take a good multi-vitamin (mainly for B-12).
Good luck with going veg in the new year. Whatever your reason(s) I'm sure you'll find it to be rewarding!
