The gym - it's my time to be selfish. The feeling of reaching a goal, pushing up one more rep, feeling the bar bend in your hands or on your back because it's loaded with plates, hitting a personal best, or leaving the gym so utterly exhausted you're unable to walk correctly... what's not to love?
How I Stay Motivated:
Step 1: Set goal.
Step 2: Bust your @$$ to attain goal.
Step 3: Reach or surpass goal.
Step 4: Repeat.

This is me when I was going through a very long and difficult divorce. My divorce diet consisted of anything I could afford - which wasn't much at the time. Started training about a year and a half after this pic was taken.
245lbs - getting thicker in the midsection, but MUCH stronger in all my lifts (not sure why the pic is so tiny... oh well - click for bigger image).
